Envision Athens has been a transformative process for our community and is unprecedented its scope, collaboration, and commitment to follow through. As such, the Envision Athens Implementation Oversight Committee is seeking a consultant for the Ongoing Project Management of the community-wide, public-private Envision Athens Action Agenda.
This two-year contract position will be supported by The Oversight Committee, who will provide guidance as the Action Agenda is implemented. The Oversight Committee is a group composed of major community stakeholders such as the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Clarke County School District, the University of Georgia, Athens Housing Authority, Athens Technical College, Georgia Power, Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, the United Way of Northeast Georgia, the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Winterville. Each has made funding contributions to support the Project Manager and the implementation of the Action Agenda.
The Oversight Committee has created a selection subcommittee of the current members to review applicants and nominate final candidates for the Project Manager position. This committee includes Emily Nicholos (United Way of Northeast Georgia), Xernona Thomas (Clarke County School District), Michele Pearson (Athens Housing Authority), and Mike Hamby (Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County). Our committee will complete interviews on March 20th. Our subcommittee will submit two final names to the Oversight Committee for a final decision on March 29th. If you are selected, we anticipate notifying you no later than Monday, April 6th. We anticipate the position start date to be Monday, April 16th.
You can find the Project Manager Scope of Work attached here. This contract position is for two-years with an option for a contract renewal at the end of the two years. The Project Manager is expected to lead engagement, with one to two meetings held monthly over the next three months, and then monthly meetings for the remaining 21 months. Meetings will be scheduled to accommodate the majority of the Oversight committee members.
