The 38-member Envision Athens Steering Committee is hard at work this month crafting a draft of the Community Action Agenda. When completed, the plan will collect proposals organized into 14 topic areas. From health to education to neighborhoods, ideas from the public engagement sessions ranged broadly. The committee will use this input, along with expertise from community stakeholders to develop their list of action proposals within each category.
These actions – projects, policies or programs – are discrete initiatives that, when completed, will move the community closer to its goals. Over the months of July and August the team will evaluate hundreds of proposals, introduce new ideas and establish their priorities. On August 10th, the committee will reconvene for their eighth meeting to discuss the draft Action Agenda and consider implementation steps.
